Keeping Clownfishes
Clownfishes are as easy and inexpensive to keep as any freshwater tropical fish, and are hardier and can live upwards of 20 years in an aquarium maintained at an expert level.
Why do people feel keeping salt water fishes is difficult and expensive?
Because there are many individuals who have tried keeping the salt water fishes being sold in Pet Shops without receiving proper instructions and guidance. The health of the livestock is often poor although not evident.
Very few business's will forego a sale of expensive marine fishes, corals and equipment by mentioning issues regarding nutrition, compatability, water quality, parasites, tank size and the overall WORK involved. Are they difficult? NO! Do they require your thorough understanding of their requirements? YES! But that is the case with any pet.
Keeping an aquarium is both physically and mentally challenging ... something many people don't have the time to deal with.
However, aquariums are less expensive then therapy, more educational then a tutor, more enjoyable then piano lessons, more challenging then karate, and more entertaining then a sitcom!
